Art, and its relation to rules.

Art should break the rules. That's all I can really say. Art that's quiet and reserved will not be remembered. Sure, you can say that paintings like 'Whistler's Mother" are just that: quiet and reserved. But it was revolutionary because of the way Whistler treated it. He resented people calling it a portrait of his mother, and that made people make whispery noises behind his back. So art that breaks the rules is good art.

In a completely unrelated note, I'll be uploading stencils for public use soon.
